Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31, 1965, is an American actress. She started out as a young model and gained critical acclaim at the age of 12 due to her lead role in the film of Louis Malle Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teenage years, and was praised for her performance in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby. Shields was cast in film roles of minor importance and returned to acting roles in the 1990s. She also played a prominent role in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), in which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. In 2017 Shields returned to NBC with a recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit during the show's 19th season. Shields has the role of Beverly Goodman on Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles, and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was a Manhattan, New York, native on May 31 in 1965. She is the daughter of Teri Shields, who was a model and actress, and Frank Shields, a businessman (1941-2003). According to William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields had ancestral connections with many noble families in Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia of Civitella Cisi from Civitella Cisi was an Italian noblewoman and the daughter of the American prince was Teri's paternal grandma. Her great-uncle was Italian nobleman Alessandro Torlonia, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain.When Teri announced that she was pregnant, the family of Frank paid her a sum to end the pregnancy.
